i'll always be glad i made the right choice to switch. it was exactly a year ago when i was a mere mac-wannabe and became a mac-owner. it was my very first mac portable computer. and life had never been the same since.

it has been a blissful year for me and fiona. there were lots of fun, learning and getting used to. but i can't discount the fact that there were trying times that made me doubt if it was all worth it. there were numerous times that i had to bring her in for checks, repairs and replacement of parts. the hardest part when the random shutdowns started and i had to wait for a heatsink replacement for four weeks. but amidst all these, i still keep an optimistic mind.

what better way to celebrate the first year? to get the extended warranty plan. with the AppleCare Protection Plan, i'm good to go for the next two years for parts and service. i can't see what troubles will come along my way but i know i'd have protection to rely on. and that will make me sleep better at night.

amidst all the hype we hear about apple, they didn't ever promise to come up with a perfect product. but it's nice to know that they're in the business to make it almost perfect. and that's good enough for me.

paxton kept me company for a good number of years. i hoped it would've been longer but it was beyond me and fate wasn't on my side, this time. our tandem was unparalleled. we had the same likes in music- old and new. he was fairly neat and had a way to keep disorganized things organized and systematic. he also enjoyed photography and took care of my photos in a manner that he knew given that we had the same cluttered head.

he tagged along wherever i went since he also loved traveling-- i'd say he was a perfect travel companion to keep you up and about anytime and anywhere. he survived the metro traffic with me. he kept me going even if i had to stay in the office for long hours. we endured long waits in the airport for delayed flights, dreaded boat rides to the far flung isolated islands and the roughest road trips.

the last trip we took together was in boracay island in aklan a week before my birthday where we frolicked in the long white stretch of beach and basked in the march summer sun.

paxton, my 4th gen 40gb ipod konked out and died last wednesday. he will be greatly missed.
